Mateo von Marco is a stunning 14 month old bi-colored German Shepherd who is full of life and ready for anything. This handsome boy with the pearly white teeth is crate-trained, house-trained, good in the yard and knows some basic commands. Although macho and confident, intelligent Mateo listens to corrections and wants to please you. He walks well on leash -- even next to dominant and hyper female dogs without over-reacting to them. In the play yard, high-energy Mateo bounds around with enthusiasm, meeting the other dogs and periodically checking in with his person. Although Mateo is friendly and outgoing when outside the home, he becomes very protective inside the home – a trait that needs to be managed. Mateo needs a strong, experienced handler who is capable of establishing boundaries and whom Mateo sees as head of the pack; someone who is willing to invest some training into this boy to bring out the very best in him.
